Care
General Maintenance: This plant is extremely low maintenance. It likes to be slightly rootbound, so don't rush to repot it. Trim off any dead leaves as needed. Propagate easily with cuttings.Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 15º-26º Celsius. Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.
Light: Bright indirect light is ideal. Direct sun can scorch the leaves. Can tolerate lower light conditions, but the colouring will become far less vibrant.
Watering: Water once every 7-10 days, then allow the soil to dry out almost entirely before watering again. Tradescantia are prone to root rot if left to sit in excess water, so ensure your pot has proper drainage.
Soil: Any well-draining potting mix works well.
Fertilizer: Fertilize with a liquid houseplant fertilizer once every 3-4 weeks in the spring and summer months.
