Liang Ssu-ch'eng (1901-1972) was a pioneer in the scientific study of Chinese architectural history.

He virtually created this field in China, and most of its current practitioners are his students.

The book, which he wrote in English for a Western public and originally intended to publish in the 1940s, provides a rare record and analysis of temples, pagodas, tombs, bridges, and imperial palaces that are China's architectural heritage.

It is a record that could not be duplicated today because a number of the structures have since been altered or demolished.

With his co-workers, Liang combed the countryside for ancient buildings which he photographed with his Leica camera and recorded in large, detailed architectural drawings of plans, elevations, and cross-sections.

These drawings are a text in themselves.

Bearing captions in Chinese and English, they teach fundamental lessons about the anatomy of Chinese structures.

Liang's account covers the origin of Chinese architecture and its two surviving basic handbooks from the 12th and 18th centuries; architecture of the pre-Buddhist period; cave temples; buildings in wood traced through several periods of stylistic development from c. 850 to 1911; Buddhist pagodas (most of the surviving pagodas are masonry structures) from simple square plans to those that are multi-storied and eaved; and other masonry structures such as tombs, vaulted buildings, bridges; terraces; and gateways.

For most of his life, Liang Ssu-ch'eng lived in China, but as a young man he received his architectural training at the University of Pennsylvania.

Wilma and John K. Fairbank first met him in China in 1932.

During his last visit to the United States, in 1947 as a Visiting Professor at Yale, Mrs. Fairbank agreed to edit his manuscript and to help him find an American publisher.

However, a combination of political and personal circumstances, compounded by the loss of the original drawings and photographs (they were only rediscovered in 1980) made publication of this unusual project impossible until now.

Chemical Guys Leather Quick Detailer for Car Interiors 32oz
Size: 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Reliable Quick Cleaner for Leather Interiors I’ve been using the Chemical Guys Leather Quick Detailer on my car’s interior for a while now, and it’s become one of those go-to products I like to keep on hand. As the name suggests, this is designed for quick touch-ups rather than deep cleaning, and for that purpose, it really does the job well. The first thing I noticed is how easy it is to use. A couple of sprays on the leather seats or steering wheel, a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth, and the surface instantly looks cleaner. It removes light dust, dirt, and fingerprints in seconds. Unlike some products I’ve tried in the past, it doesn’t leave behind a slick or greasy feel, which is important when you’re dealing with things like a steering wheel or gear shifter that you’re constantly touching. Instead, the finish is clean, soft, and natural-looking, which is exactly what I want. The scent is another plus. It has a pleasant, subtle leather fragrance that makes the car smell fresh without being overwhelming or chemical-like. I don’t like products that leave behind a strong odor, and this one strikes the right balance. Another strength is its versatility. While it’s marketed as a car interior detailer, I’ve found it works well on other small leather items, like a laptop bag or even a chair at home. Obviously, it’s not a replacement for a full leather conditioner, but for light upkeep it’s nice to have a single product that can handle more than just my car. That said, there are a few things that keep this from being a perfect 5-star product. First, it’s definitely not designed for deep cleaning—if your leather is heavily soiled, stained, or dried out, this won’t be enough. You’d need a dedicated cleaner and conditioner for a full restoration. Second, the spray nozzle can be a bit inconsistent, sometimes giving off more of a stream than a fine mist. It’s not a huge issue, but it can waste product or make application less even if you’re not careful. Lastly, while it makes leather look clean and refreshed, it doesn’t provide as much conditioning as some other products, so if you’re looking for something that really nourishes and protects long term, this is more of a maintenance step than a solution. Overall, though, I’m very satisfied. The Chemical Guys Leather Quick Detailer is perfect for keeping leather looking sharp between major cleanings. It’s fast, effective, and leaves behind a clean finish without unwanted residue. It saves me time and keeps my car interior looking well cared for, which is exactly what I want from a quick detailer. I’d rate it 4 stars—an excellent product for regular maintenance and touch-ups, with just a few small shortcomings that prevent it from being the ultimate all-in-one leather care solution.

Great leather cleaner
Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Bought this because I accidentally got some sunscreen stains on my leather interior in my car. Just a quick spray of this and a wipe with a microfiber towel and the stains are gone! Very pleased with the product and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice leather cleaner!

Works as advertised and smells good
Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
My daughter and I went to the beach. She didn't put her cover up back on and got sunscreen on the black leather seats. This stuff worked great. Cleaned it off and hopefully protects for anything else headed towards my seats in the future.

This will melt built up dirt in no time.
Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I bought a 3 bottle set that included the interior cleaner, cloth cleaner and leather cleaner. All three worked really well when I used them. The cloth cleaner lifted and disolved the surface dirt from the the seats and made easier to use a portable wet vac to vacuum the dirt. The interior cleaner did a far superior job on melting built up dirt on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel and other surfaces. The leather cleaner did pretty much the same as the other two and I can see myself buying this again. It dried quickly too
