WilcoxThis book focuses on managing mechanical ventilation and its impact on physiology, primarily in the transport environment. This book focuses on managing mechanical ventilation and its impact on physiology, primarily in the transport environment. Mechanical ventilation is one of the most common procedures in all critical care, including critical care transport. Yet the management of ventilation poses significant risks to the patient. In the transport environment, understanding the nuances of mechanical ventilation and its impact on physiology is extremely important. Respiratory therapists and critical care physicians are essential critical care team members, but they may not be available in austere or remote locations, and consultation may not always be practical. More than ever, transport clinicians are responsible for managing ventilators according to evidence-based principles.

The objectives of this text are to:

  1. Familiarize transport clinicians with common terms in mechanical ventilation,
  2. Review key principles of pulmonary physiology relevant to both mechanical ventilation and specific to transport,
  3. Understand the interpretation of blood gases as related to the management of the ventilated patient,
  4. Discuss the basic principles of selecting ventilator settings,
  5. Develop strategies for caring for ventilated patients with ARDS, asthma, COPD, trauma, and neurologic injury,
  6. Provide information specific to caring for ventilated neonates and pediatric patients,
  7. Assess and respond to emergencies during mechanical ventilation.

The book closes with a chapter of case studies, which are used to review the principles taught throughout the rest of the text, and a conclusion that neatly sums up the essential points of the book. Chapters are enhanced with diagrams, tables, illustrations, and photographs.

Perfect Solution for Moisturizing Heels Without Full Socks
Color: Black, Grey
Excellent quality and incredibly soft! These toeless socks are perfect if you like to moisturize your heels but don’t want to wear full socks. They stay in place and keep the lotion where it needs to be—highly recommend

These are quality materials!
The design and materials are above average. They fit great and are so comfortable. I have nerve damage and need open toes. These work perfectly. The colors are cute and did not fade upon washing. I will definitely order more, now that I’ve received my “trial” set. lol

The best freetoes socks ever
Color: Black, Grey
Love this toeless socks so much! I could wear it all day. Very comfortable! It is just the right thickness which is suitable in summer time or cold weather as well. Most of the toeless socks I have seen have the gel on the heel area and I don't like the feel of it. I'd rather apply lotion on my heel then wear the socks. I have had some issues with the packaging from Amazon and I made the maker of this said socks aware of it. Julia Bebben was very prompt in her response and very helpful. Thank you Julia for your excellent customer service.

great concept, just one tiny annoyance...
Color: Black, Grey
i love that a sock that lets your toes be free is even a thing that exists. i love that this company was started by a young girl, now turned young businesswoman. i have pain in my big toes, so i can't wear close toed anything, but feet get stinky if you wear shoes/slippers all the time without socks. this is a great solution. the only thing i find slightly annoying (not enough to stop using these) is the seam on the bottom of your foot, near the base of the toes. it is a straight line, which is fine on the top of the foot, but i wish the bottom itself curved a bit, to follow the line of the toes. as it is, the seam lands right in the middle if the ball of my feet, so i can feel the seams everytime i take a step. i am constantly pulling the seam toward the toes, to try to keep from feeling it, but then my pinky toe gets caught and balled up on the inside. outside of that slight annoyance, they're comfortable and fit well.
